Sending audio from iRig via mobile phone

I want to transmit the audio signal form a church via iPhone or other mobile phone.
The place is to connect the input of the iRig with the amplifier and the output to my iPhone. Then the iPhone is connected to a conference system to distribute the speech and music.
Would that work? And is there any advice for me?

if you haven't figured it out yet, you need a DI box. I don't know if there is a cheaper way to go, i had this thing sitting around in our stash and used it. Works great. You need something to take the analog signal that will convert it to digital.
