I tried my iRig 2 with both Amplitube and Tonebridge and neither works when the switch is on FX, when connected via a lightning to 3.5mm Apple adapter.
I tried both my iPad and my iPhone and both do the exact same issue.
When I put the iRig 2 switch to THRU, it works fine and the guitar plays normally through to the amp. Switch it to FX and nothing.
Amplitube shows “mic” being used and not the iRig. Tonebridge shows “connect guitar” so it also isn’t seeing the connection properly.
My phone doesn’t have 3.5mm but my iPad does. When I use the iPads 3.5mm and don’t use the lightning adapter, the iRig 2 works just fine in FX mode, just like it should.
My adapter is a real Apple one. It works perfectly fine for anything else. Also since it works on THRU, I don’t think my adapter is to blame.
Is the iRig 2 even compatible with the lightning adapter? Maybe that’s the issue?
