Unable to Reinstall any IK software

Postby ZM326_ » Sat May 31, 2025 9:50 pm

Hello,
I recently had an SSD (X:) fail that was the Windows 11 install location for all of my IK applications. That drive and its assigned letter are no longer in use. Now I am trying to restore/reinstall any applications to a new drive (Q:) while leaving the VST install folders to be the default and the installer download folder on my larger spinning disk. Now I perpetually get an error of 'the drive or unc share you selected does not exist or is not accessible'. Is anyone aware of how to fix this error? It would seem that somewhere in the software it is still looking for an X: drive but I can't find where.
I've contacted support but am curious if there is a known solution already.
Thanks.

Follow-up - Somewhat Solved

IK seems to expect the software is all installed on C:, however, I had installed several programs on my faster X: drive. Using Revo Uninstaller, it would see each program that had previously been installed. When running the uninstaller, it would give an error that it could not be found on X:. Proceeding with the advanced process, the problem seems to be several registry keys. For example, here is the output of the uninstall registry key for Miroslav:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{CF8EE134-AD62-4D47-81A5-A42CAE3B1710}_is1

In the values you can see it pointing to the old X: path, such as the Inno Setup: App Path, Install Location, QuietUninstallString, etc.

Deleting these keys allows the installation again to C:.
