Lurssen Mastring Console 99% cpu in FL Stud20.8

Postby kenlive2001 » Sun Sep 05, 2021 2:05 am

After I put Lussen Mastering Console on a channel/track cpu hits 99% and distorts all audio.I'm hoping to grab this as a free vst during the 25th anniversary event, but not if its broke on my system, anyone else having similar issues with FL Studio?

yep same here. The app is unusable in FL Studio for me- as soon as I enable it in the DAW the PC usage shoots up to 100%. I also get the same behavior (audio pops/ cracks due to high CPU usage) running the application in stand-alone mode if I use ASIO drivers. In stand-alone mode it works only if I use the Windows Direct Drivers.

HP laptop Spectre 13-ac0XX
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.90 GHz
16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)

That would be a real bummer if I can't use this thing in my DAW after purchasing it.

I had the same issue, but I resolved it by observing two things:
1. I only use Lurssen for mastering, as it was intended. I don't put it on single tracks, I put it at the end of the chain if I use it in Studio One, and only on the Project page. It is the final step for me.
2. When using Lurssen, I set Studio One for maximum dropout protection. Any other level has the CPU performance meter pegged at 100%. Once I use maximum dropout protection, the CPU usage behaves normally. No pops, no crackles, very usable.

If you want to use it in standalone mode, open your setup (click on the gear) and change your buffer to the maximum value.

I won't be using this in standalone, as I also want to use ARC3. I use Lurssen and ARC3 on the Project page in Studio One.

Now, I just have to learn how to use it to make my recordings sound good! (Questions on another thread...)

I hope this helps someone on this thread.
