Downloading To External Disk/NAS

Postby tmsppn » Sun Feb 16, 2025 8:29 pm

Hello,

I am new to this forum, so I hope someone can help me.

I am thinking about buying Total Studio Max 4 which needs 680GB of disk space.
I don't have that much space on my MacBook, but I do have a NAS (External Network Disk).

Does anyone know if it's possible to download all large things, e.g. samples, directly to the NAS?
And is it possible to download all products that come with the Total Studio bundle separately?

I've seen another post similar to my question but that didn't give me a very concrete answer.

I would be great if someone can answer this for me.

You can set the "downloads folder" used by the IK Product Manager to be n a non-system or external disk. I would expect a NAS disk to be the same.

Give it a try - you can always change the folder back if it does not work.

As far as I know you can download / install each individual product separately, if it is listed in the IKPM. For example. here for Syntronik I have over 50 separate downloads for the sounds, including 2 big bundles (for Syntronik and Syntronik 2 respectively).

Please note that the IKPM needs two lots of disk space - one for the downloaded files and one for the installed files. After successful installation you can back-up the DOWNLOAD files and then delete them from the downloads folder. Even better, you can just make a back-up copy of the INSTALLED sounds library.
