A new user of the Brickwall Limier and I'm a little confused. Many of the limiters I have used allow me to set the output ceiling, for example -1.0 dB for Spotify, but for some reason, when using the IK Brickwall limiter or the stealth limiter, the peak still exceeds -1.0 dB when I meter it one plugin down the chain. This is confusing to me as I thought the Brickwall Limiter was specifically intended to prevent that from happening. I thought they were designed to ensure the MAXIMUM level that got through the limiter was whatever I set the Maximum output to be.
I suspect I am misunderstanding or doing something wrong. How the IK Brickwall limiter is supposed to work. I'm using YouLean to measure the peaks.
