Hard clipping when turning up input gain

I'm getting hard clipping when turning up input gain on an T-Racks 5 plugins. For example Classic Clipper, EQ 73, Fame, Tape Machine XX. Of course, output gain is adjusted well below clipping. Surely this isn't normal behavior, but I don't know what the issue might be.

I said Classic Clipper above. That was a mistake. I meant Saturation X.
