Pianoverse assistance

Hello,
As a long term user of Modartt's PianoTeq, I'm thinking about buying Pianoverse after seeing some really good YT reviews. From what I've read it's quite a large footprint per piano especially compared to PianoTeq and some users/reviewers have reported issues with loading times etc. So if possible, I'd like to ask those who are well 'versed' in Pianoverse for their experience.

I can't argue with the overall sound and although PianoTeq and Keyscape got that matter, have some great presets, the loading time of PV does concern me. I'd plan to run it from an external SSD so would expect that to be the best option of out the box. Also, as the plugin has three pedal options 'Soft, Sostunato & Damper' which is a massive USP. In order to make use of these, is a special type of expression pedal/s required as some users have had issues triggering 'Soft and Sostunato' with cc 66 & 67? I'd rather not have to purchase extra hardware to get the best out of the software, so would appreciate any guidance.
Thank you
