I’m in the process of upgrading my live performance setup, and I’m considering incorporating some IK Multimedia gear and software. I’ve heard great things about the quality of their products, but I could use some advice to make the best choices for my needs.
Here’s a bit about my setup and goals:
Instruments and Gear: I primarily play guitar and keyboards. I use a MIDI keyboard (Novation Launchkey) and a few effect pedals for my guitar.
Performance Style: My live performances include a mix of solo instrumental pieces and layered loops. I rely heavily on MIDI control and live looping to create dynamic soundscapes.
Audio Interface: I currently use a basic interface but am open to upgrading if needed to ensure compatibility and better performance with IK products.
I’m particularly interested in products like AmpliTube, TONEX, and the AXE I/O interface. I’d also love to know if anyone has experience using IK’s MIDI controllers (e.g., iRig Keys) for live performances and how they integrate with DAWs like Ableton Live or Logic Pro.
Some specific questions:
What’s the learning curve like for AmpliTube or TONEX in a live setting?
Is the AXE I/O interface a good choice for both guitar and keyboard inputs, or should I consider something else?
Are there any IK products or bundles you’d recommend for a live-looping musician?
