Problem authorising Legacy Instruments and importing to ST3

Postby elgolview » Mon Jul 22, 2024 8:20 pm

I bought a new Windows PC and have successfully installed ST4 and ST3.
I’ve downloaded and reinstalled my legacy instruments SampleMoog, SampleTron and SonikSynth. I cannot get my legacy instruments to re-authorise. The old Product Authorization Wizard pops up when I launch the instruments but it no longer works because when I click on the “Register On Line” button, it goes to a web page that is not found.
I’ve successfully registered them using the Product Manager and the Notifications list there says that they have been registered correctly. But when I launch the instruments, I still get the old Product Authorization Wizard popping up and it now says they will only run in limited Demo Mode until authorized.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

What I want to get to is importing them into ST3 so that I can use them in ST4. When I try to import them into ST3, the import process starts, then ST3 crashes. Is this a different problem and is there an answer?

I couldn’t find anything in the forum and it’s been over a week since I submitted a ticket and I’ve had no reply.
My new PC is Windows 11, 96GB RAM, 7TB of SSD storage. All IK multimedia products were bought by me and I have all the right licence codes.
Maybe these legacy products are just getting too old and I need to move on. That would be a pity because they’ve served me well over the years and I love the sounds that they make.
Please help! :)

A quick update:
IK Multimedia Support got back to me and sent me a new authorization code for SampleTron that has to be inputted into the Product Authorization Wizard after clicking that I already have a code. SampleTron now launches in standalone mode without the authorization wizard appearing.
I've now asked them whether they can do the same for SonikSynth and SampleMoog.
Unfortunately, when I try to import SampleTron into SampleTank3 as a legacy instrument, the process starts, but crashes after 3 or 4 seconds and the instrument fails to import. I hope that Support or someone on the forum has some ideas about fixing this, otherwise I can't use these sound libraries in Cubase 13Pro.
