Syntronik Authorization

Postby katopodisp » Sat Nov 20, 2021 3:08 pm

Hi there,
I once again have the same problem with Syntronik, which asks for authorization every time I try to load a preset. I have already authorized it and have "restored my purchases" from Custom Shop.

What happens if you Authorise Syntronik in IK Multimedia Authorization Manager? (give it a fresh try if you haven't already).

I have already tried that and the problem persists. It asks for authorization. Last time I had solved it by restoring my purchases in Custom Shop. But this time nothing seems to help.

Then you might want to lodge a ticket with IKM support

I am having the same problem, though with Syntronik 2. I didn't realize it was released until I opened my product manager and I was informed the free version is available for download. So I downloaded it and it is showing it is authorized and I can open it alright, but every time I choose a preset it is telling me whatever synth the preset uses needs to be authorized. I have Syntronik 1 and it was authorized already and still showing it is in the product manager. I also restored my purchases in Custom Shop and it did not solve the problem. I did notice in Custom Shop after I restored my purchases the green checkmark is not beside the Syntronik 1 synths even though I own it, but Syntronik 1 works as usual still when I open it.

Anyone have any insight on this? I would like to try out the free version before I jump in and purchase it, so just looking how to get it to actually work.

Oh. I think I may know what the problem is now. I see a few presets are available to use in Syntronik 2 that actually do work, so I guess those are the ones included with the free version. I was under the impression if you owned Syntronik 1 its synths would automatically be able to be used in Syntronik 2 (like you can use the amps/cabs in AmpliTube 4 you already own in the free version of AmpliTube 5) and only the presets using synths you did not own would not work. But maybe that is not the case. It might be you have to buy it first before all the presets are activated. However I could be wrong and still unsure.

I think you were right to expect previously purchased synths from Syntronik 1 to be able to work in Syntronik 2. On the info page of Syntronik 2 it says this:

Choose the version of Syntronik 2 that’s right for you
Syntronik 2 CS
Your free entry into Syntronik 2 with 100 presets, 2.4 GB of sound content and full app and plug-in functionality ready for expansion.
Hosts previously purchased synths.
DOWNLOAD FREE

So Syntronik 2 CS hosts the original 22 synths, which is logical because this is a new release to host the 11 new synths along with the entire collection - a total of 33. I really like the new tidy interface, however I have the same authorisation problem as 'IK User'. I can't play any of my previously purchased synths because an Authorisation popup appears every time I try to load a preset. It tells me that the synth is not authorised and I need to launch the Product Manager and insert the serial number to authorise it. Even when I do this (bearing in mind that the 22 synths had already been previously registered and authorised with IK when I first purchased them) I still get the popups which say the synths need authorising. I've tried unauthorising Syntronik 2 and authorising it again. I've tried rescanning the library and I've tried closing Syntronik 2 and opening it again, but nothing seems to work. I think it must be a bug.

I forgot to say I'm using a Mac Mini M1 with macOS Big Sur 11.6.1 as I don't know if this problem exists on Intel Macs or Windows machines.

Sounds like you are having the same exact issue I am. Though I am using a PC so I do not think it has anything to do with using it on a Mac considering I have the same problem. I read the same thing on the info page after I wrote the above comments and I started leaning toward it being a bug as well. If it is, IK will surely have it fixed eventually. What I can tell thus far, it does seem a step up from the last one. A bit more slick and well-oiled, though the 1st one is still a nice plug-in.

I found the solution! :D

You have to go to the 'My Products' section of your account on the IK Multimedia website. Copy the serial number of Syntronik 2 CS, after that open up the IK Product Manager app, then click ‘Manage My products’. Tap on the red + Register Product bar at the top right, paste in your serial number and that’s it!

I believe the authorisation pop-ups we were getting when trying to load presets from previous purchases don't make it clear enough when each time it has ‘Please launch the product manager and insert the product serial number to authorise. This is because Syntronik 2 CS was working ok but the synths, which for each one I also have a serial number, were not working. I took it that I needed to register and authorise the synths again, especially when I have ‘Auto Authorisation enabled in the product manager, so Syntronik 2 CS was automatically authorised the first time I installed it. I think the warning pop-ups need a bit of re-wording.

Very good to know everything's ok now :) I'm thinking about hiding or deleting my Syntronik 1 plugin now that version 2 has more synths and presets and is much easier on the eyes. It's great we've been given these new presets for the original 22 synths too. I'm looking forward to trying out all the new features.

Before you do, compare and contrast the Syntronik 1 and Syntronik 2 GUIs. Some users prefer the Syntronik 1 GUI.
