Miraslov Philharmonik Questions [Resolved]

Postby LSR2014 » Wed May 29, 2019 5:11 pm

Hi --
Recently purchased CE edition. First impressions: the string sounds are the best I've heard so far and the GUI is quite intuitive for me. Thanks!

Question One: what is the difference between the CE and full version?

Question Two: I would really like to be able to have the channels of the instruments show up as channels in my DAW rather than using the mix tab on the plug in. Is there a way to do that?

Three: Is there a way to automate the key switches in my DAW?

Thanks.
: )

I'm in Studio One 4.5 on a Windows 10 laptop.

Hello LSR2014 and welcome to the forum.

Q1: The software is the same, the difference is the number of instruments;

MP2 web page wrote: 868 Strings
349 Brass
393 Woodwinds
119 Choirs

774 Percussion
96 Chromatic Instruments
8 Grand Pianos
48 Other Classical Instruments

MP2 CE web page wrote: 211 Strings
162 Brass
231 Woodwinds
55 Orchestral Sections
25 Choirs

4 Grand Pianos
3 Chromatic Instruments
22 Percussion Instruments
20 Other Classical Instruments

Q2: Not 100% sure what you are asking. On the Mix tab in MP2 you route each instrument slot to a pair of plug-in outputs. You can configure most DAWs to use multiple tracks/channels for multi-output plug-ins. (I do not know Studio One.)

Q3: Yep. All you need to do is send the appropriate MIDI note (C0 upwards) from your host, just before the first note you want to use that articulation. (NB This is not using plug-in automation.) Click on the active articulation in the MP2 virtual keyboard to bring up the KS map.

Hello Dark Star.
Thank you very much for the info.
Being somewhat unfamiliar with midi in general, the idea of the key triggers just didn't make sense. It works like a charm though! Thanks.
Working with recorded audio mostly, and I'm just used to having plug in parameters or signal to automate.

S1 has Impact XT for drums, for example, and the method for showing the channels is very easy. I just couldn't find a way to do it with this one. Sounds like I might be missing something and I will keep looking into it.

Look in the Reference Manual for "Set Up Multiple Virtual Instrument Outputs"

Already figured it out! Wasn't looking in the right place AND S1 doesn't label stereo and mono tracks the same as PT and others.
Thank you for your help.
