Speed up the listing of Instruments in the folder view. For my Imported SampleTank 3 instruments (about 33,000 instruments) it takes 40-50 seconds EACH TIME the library is selected.

-- build the list only when a folder is selected, rather than everything at once
-- save the results on disk,

Add function to go directly to loaded Instrument when clicking on it from the Layer Browser. Right now, it just goes to the last thing I looked at in the Instrument Browser.

Also, make a way you can duplicate an instrument from one slot to the next using alt-drag or some other key command. Its too much effort to always have to save the Instrument or go find it in the Instrument Browser again...especially if you've made some minor edits, but don't really want to save them at that point. This interrupts the creative flow by having to come up with a name, style, mood, and then save in a folder you might have to track down later.

Ditto goes for Effects chains. The functionality for dragging individual effects around in the Mixer is excellent, we just need a little handle or button to drag that entire chain to another Mixer channel. Or maybe an icon to the left of the lock that will open a menu that allows you to copy the chain to specific channel?

Allow for Master channel in Mixer to be sent to separate output like the other Mixer channels.

In the Mixer view, make the Effects Rack presets menu readable:

Use the same font as for the Effects presets.

And let us load Effect Rack presets in the Effects Rack view.

Let us hide "Authorized but not installed" libraries (e.g The Grid) in the ST4 Browser

I hope I word this in the best way to get the point across.

I want to go in depth of the boundaries I'm facing but I'll get right to the point.

Hopefully SampleTank will finally be able to somehow send drum zones to specific outputs. I see so many ways it can be integrated after looking for it for about 3 hours.

Some bla bla:

I keep gravitating back to IK after looking at the competitions prices vs offerings. I love the crazy deals that make the money feel well spent.

I was so close to falling in love with SampleTank 4 but I still have to find an outlet for drums. For me, mixing them is crucial. For example, a snare needs a much looser release time on a compressor than a bass drum and the upper harmonics of the hats and cymbals can't be passed through a low pass.

I'm still going for the "Total Studio Spectacular", because it's an amazing deal that is unmatched by any other vendors. Hopefully SampleTank will get drum zone sends.

MODO Drum also looks amazing, it's something I'm been dreaming about since I seen Roland's ARX-01 Super natural drums. The only thing that kept me from buying it at it's introductory price was that I didn't see a global tonic tuner. Tuning a drum kit to the tonic is one of my loath worthy procedures; then if I want to change the root of my composition, I have to start all over again.

Thanks for any consideration,
Best regards

I still cannot get on with the lack of contrast / clarity of the ST4 GUI.

Compare and contrast:

And here I just put the ST3 knobs onto the ST4 GUI:

(1) Left justify all the contents of the Categories, Filters and Instrument columns in the main window, making them easier to peruse more quickly. Alternatively, allow a user choice for justifying text.

(2) I find the GUI too large in a DAW. Although it can be dragged larger, I'd like to be able to drag it smaller, e.g. to the size of the GUI in ST3.

Thanks!

EDIT: I agree with DarkStar's post above. ;)

1) Please, give option to set a different bend parameter value for + and - separately in the oscillator panel. Implement this in Syntronik also.

2) An option to turn vibrato CC off the mod wheel.

3) Bring back the panel with all keyswitches names on KS patches, or at least give us a small info text at mouse over.

4) I'd love it to be less heavy on CPU.

I wish SampleTank can offer the Effect rack version too if possible.

Maybe I misunderstand, but have a look at the User Manual, chapter 6.

Or get T-RackS 5?

Hi, I'm the new one here and bought the Total studio max 2 in these days, I have both SampleTank and T-Racks 5, and I saw SampleTank have some effects witch's not include in T-Racks like modulation or Delay/Reverb module like CONVOROOM, maybe some is from Amplitube or it's only in SampleTank, Sorry I'm not sure about that, I just think if it can offer Effect Rack version might be a nice feature. sorry if I let you confuse. : (

Ability to use any MIDI file as a Pattern.
-- without moving /duplicating them into sub-folders in the ST4 Patterns folder,
-- possible multiple folder paths, selectable in Settings,
-- with MIDI notes on any channel,
-- with .MID (upper case) file extensions,
-- with any name (pop-up a dialogue window to specify the tempo and length),
-- if the file is multi-track, load it into several play slots.

IK please consider adding the ability to delete instruments that you don't want from the list of instruments to make it quicker and easier to go through ?

It would be nice to have a 'favorites' list !
