SampleTank 2 installer for old G5 PowerPC [Resolved]

Hi,
this is my 1st post here but I have been using IK plug-Ins for some time.
Since 2004 when it came bundled with ProTools LE.

I'm looking for a full version/Installer for my ancient G5 PowerPC.
I have SE installed but would like either L or XL.
Unfortunately IK do not have any Legacy Installers available.

I've contacted IK before I posted on here.
The answer was that they do NOT sell SampleTank 2 anymore.
I was aware of that.
Especially for the old PowerPC platform.

Why are so many companies are not keeping legacy INSTALLERS?

I'm NOT looking for freebies.
I know that the PowerPC platform is ancient.
My G5 DUALcore runs ROCK solid.
The reason for me using a Powermac is simple...
...restrictions make you more creative...
at least in my case.

I have 2 Plug-Ins (paid! FULL versions) (NOT IK) I was able to install without any problems...
...until that was...
the DEMO expired and registration was required.
The 1st company said put in the bin as the registration tool was now obsolete/replaced and not supported on the PPC.
The 2nd company told me to install the legacy registration tool and if this wouldn't work to try offline registration.
Well...
offline was discontinued in 2017 and I was kindly asked to upgrade my OSX.
I have the latest available OSX for my G5.
It is frustrating that because of a registration tool a perfectly usable software becomes useless.

Hello pewepro and welcome to the forum.

Maybe there is some confusion here. In your first post you said you were looking for ST2 L or XL. I am 99% certain that the only difference between SE, L and XL is the contents of the sounds library. The actual ST2 software is the same. Support was therefore correct to respond to your request by saying that those ST2 products are not for sale any more.

As for the legacy installers, you should find the ST2 software installer in your User Area / My Products section. I do not know whether those installers will run on your system. You may need to use one of the older installers (click "Past releases"), as Peter mentioned.

Legacy products (that is those that do not use the Authorization Manager) can be registered / authorized here:

If you wish to get the ST2 L or XL product, with the bigger library, you could try the Sell / Buy forum at KvR Audio.

I never said you were looking for a freebie. I stated that if you had registered the product you are looking for it would be in your IK User Area and there should also be previous releases available there. For upgrading to a legacy version that is no longer for sale, you'd need to find a second-hand sale as DarkStar mentions.

IK Support probably were answering a different question correctly as DarkStar points out. If you have previously purchased an older version and don't see it in your IK User Area they would be the ones to assist you.

I'm with DarkStar, we're not upset we just want to make sure you have all the information you need. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with other companies, I also hope those get resolved quickly and with reduced frustration.

I have just purchased a boxed copy of SampleTank2 XL and SONIK Synth2...
What a find.
RESULT!!!
I'll report back as soon as I have both installed and running.
Hopefully IK will make the authorisation process not to difficult...lol

Here we go again...
I can install the plug-in but cannot authorize it.
Authorization manager needs to be installed but only shows the Intel-Mac version.
This is getting really frustrating!!!
Help please...

Yep,
I've tried that!
Its telling me to Register my Authorization manager.
I have Ver.2.0.9...
and apparently my serial number requires the AM.
SampleTank1 and 2.5 are mentioned but NOT 2.

I don't know what to do...
I'm lost!

Exactly which version of ST2 XL did you get? I doubt very much that ST2.x requires the Authorization Manager.
