I recently updated ST to version 4.0.9. I have been using it as a plug-in with Pro Tools 2018.4. I was pleased to see that ST now loads presets faster and is less taxing on Pro Tools resources. I don't know if it is just my imagination but some of the presets sound better (C 7 Grand Piano for one).
