Sampletank 3 DAW Automation

Postby gonwild » Fri Jan 05, 2018 8:21 pm

Hello,
How can I automate switching between sounds in a multi ? I can only get Volume, Pan etc. for each part, but lets say I have a midi track, and want it to use 10 different sounds in a song.

My idea is to load a multi and automate the different sounds on/off on. But the only way I'm able to do so is to use the volume curve for each sound. Any ideas how to achieve this more elegantly?

You could create multiple MIDI tracks in your DAW and point them all at the one instance of ST3 with a different MIDI channel for each sound. How this is achieved would depend on how your DAW deals with multitimbral instruments.

Or, have a look at using the Live tab, with Program Changes. ST3 User Guide, section 3.5.

good suggestions, thanks guys!

(I also found I could use the LEARN function to assign the "solo" function of each sound to an avaliable MIDI CC number, and manipulate the value of that. Worked like a charm (in reaper))
