Realisic escapement for Piano VST in Sample Tank 4

Postby Buttyax » Thu Apr 24, 2025 1:04 pm

I have several high quality Piano VSTs from Sample Tank 4 in use (e.g. Berlin Grand Piano, C7 Grand, ...) and other virtual instruments software like Pianoteq and even the free Numa Player.
I use a Roland FP-10X as midi Input device, which has a very realistic action and even excellent escapement simulation.
However, in Sample Tank 4 the escapement simulation is not realistic. Let me explain my observation with an example: When pressing a key on the action very very slow, I expect that no sound is generated like on a real piano. Exactly this happens in Pianoteq and also in free Numa Player. But in Sample Tank 4 there is always a piano tone regardless how slow I press the key.
Can I change this behavior or is that a given property of the Sample Tank 4 software? Is that bevavior which is inferior for my purpose, also exisent in the new software Pianoverse, because I think of switching from Sample Tank 4 to Pianoverse just to solve this problem.

Thank you.
