MP2- automate the EDIT page controls or FX? [Resolved]

Postby Danix78 » Sun Sep 18, 2022 10:53 pm

Hi,
in Cubase I can automate 8 Macros, Volume, Pan and Bypass, but not the parameters in the EDIT page and those of the FX Effects.
Can these checks be automated?

In Cubase 12 you can easily assign the chosen parameters (8 Macro, Volume, Pan and Bypass) to 8 VST controls, but not to any parameters of the EDIT page, or of the FX Effects.

This is possible? Advice?

I think that you will need to use MIDI CC messages (not plug-in parameter automation) and assign those MIDI CC messages to the desired knobs / sliders.

No need, you use MP2's MIDI Learn feature to assign a MIDI Controller to the target knob. You may need to create a MIDI item on the track with the appropriate MIDI CC messages in it.

Check out Chapter 6 in the MP2 User Manual.

Thanks,
I know chapter 6, but the control panel only reports the 8 Macros.
I can't see the other (many) parameters in the EDIT page and the other (many) FX parameters.

I cannot find out which CC number corresponds to a certain parameter in the EDIT page or in the FX.

Right now I don't have the DAW in front of me. I'll try to write automation directly (W button), playing and moving any parameters, and see if I find the corresponding CC number.

Sorry!
By mistake I always wrote "MIX page" but I meant "EDIT page"!

Should I change the title of the topic? And change the term "MIX" to "EDIT" in every answer I've given? Or do I delete this topic and open a new one? Sorry!

^^^
Change the thread title if you can (I think that there is a time limit, though)

Sorry that I was not clear.

As you have seen, the 8 Macro controls are automatically mapped to MIDI CC #12-19. The other parameters are NOT automatically mapped to any MIDI CC#. You can do that yourself using MP2's MIDI learn feature:

Click the LEARN button, then click the knob or slider you want to control in Miroslav Philharmonik 2. Then simply move the external controller [#]you want to assign to control the Miroslav Philharmonik 2 knob or slider. The knob or slider in Miroslav Philharmonik 2 will "learn” the associated controller and respond to it accordingly.

[#] If you do not have an external controller to hand, then you can create a MIDI item on the track containing events for the CC# that you want o use and send that data to MP2.

Please note that this is NOT host automation 9which is used to control those parameters that the plug-in declares to the host) ; it is control (or automation) by MIDI CC messages.

I can't find any buttons to edit the topic! Or the title! Or delete it!

Thank you!
I'll try your suggestion, hoping I understand the [#] ... how to send that data to MP2

This all works!
I finally figured out how to associate the EDIT page and FX parameters!
Thanks 1000!
