I would just think, at a minimum, that TONEX Max and Amplitube MAX owners would get a significant discount on unlocking the expanded rig chain, since its essentially just bringing Amplitube into TONEX.

You qualify for the $/€50 off upgrade version. TONEX Rig is $/€149 for CS/new users, $/€99.99 for TONEX users with qualifying versions of TONEX (the paid TONEX SE / TONEX / TONEX MAX versions).

I’m not sure what would cause that, I don’t see a global issue with the update in IK Product Manager so you would want to [open a ticket with IK Support](https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/sw) so they can troubleshoot with you directly.

I appreciate that there is cost on your side for development, but $100 for something that we have all the functionality to do in Amplitube 5 MAX seems pretty excessive. I get the feeling that Amplitube going forward is essentially dead at this point and the migration is under way to full TONEX, but I could be wrong about that. I am loyal IK user and a big fan of TONEX and Amplitube, but I have to admit that this doesn’t feel great.

</div>

That may be the issue. If you believe TONEX Rig is “just adding some AmpliTube effects” or similar then I could see why you’d feel the upgrade is not worthy of a paid upgrade. With regard to just the effects, TONEX Board effects are not just all AmpliTube effects, there are brand new effects available nowhere else. Plus you also get the functionality of TONEX Board in software for like the dual/split chains, four simultaneous Tone Models, and more.

I hear what you’re saying and I don’t mean to say that there is no value in what is being offered. I would be willing to pay something, it’s just that $100 (down from $150) feels very steep to me, personally.

It’s a shame there isn’t a 14-day demo or trial version. That would make it much easier to properly test the new features and decide whether it’s actually worth spending the extra $100.

I understand that. Also, I sometimes try to cover too many bases in one reply. I definitely understand your position and of course your opinion and choice. I do try to also clarify what is included and what benefits there are with TONEX Rig and I sometimes blend it all into one reply, sorry about that!

Paying for RIG is a cool way to audition the new capabilities of board and to decide if the SW is stable enough for you to buy the board. What might be good is if IK gave you back the RIG price in Jam Points/ rebate or something if you later buy the Board. Just a suggestion. That way if you buy RIG first or buy the Board first it’s basically the same investment. I for one am super happy with my One+ and will likely jump on the Board at some point as it matures and the RIG is a good way for me to assess features / stability etc.

I saw this suggested elsewhere (just so I can’t take credit for it if it happens) and flew the idea by some folks here so let’s see. I will bump it tomorrow if I don’t hear back at all but I think it is a great idea.

Why has the preview player been removed? It’s one of _the_ super useful Tonex software features. I have a ton of loops recorded for it, using my favorite guitars, various pickup positions and playing techniques. This should be brought back.

I am guessing that this has been requested before, but is there a reason that you can have multiple amp blocks but no pedal block? Maybe I am missing seeing it, and it’s in there. I have all of the pedals that have come with TONEX, but no effective way that I can see to use them in the software. Happy to hear if I am wrong about this.

@Peter-IK so from now on we use ToneX or Amplitude ? I am a ToneX Max user and I am so confused as of what I should use for my tones.

Thanks

So 2.1 has cleaned alot of this download flakiness up as well. There’s also a download all button for the collections view which is super handy for presets. I do wish that there was a more intuitive way to manage presets, models etc. but I’m starting to get a better feel for how IK approached all of this and it’s starting to make more sense. One thing I have avoided however is user folders because I can’t tell you how many times I lost those on an update. I now just rename the files and use search to filter to what I’m looking for. Has anyone confirmed that 2.1 does better with keeping user folders in tact when updating/ upgrading?

Hi All. I was surprised that 2.1 didn’t fix the issue with the Tonenet viewer. The “Gear Based on” information is only shown when clicking the details. This makes it very difficult to see what you’re playing. When looking through 100s of tone models you need to have more info than just the author, name, likes, and downloads which is what is shown currently. Right clicking does not give a choice for more columns to be added like the rest of the browser tabs. Minimum should include Gear Based on, Cab Type, Date Added, and a V1/V2 flag like in the main library. I assume this is an oversight and not intentional. @Peter-IK do you know if this is in the pipe?

You can right-click the top bar with the other sections, and there is a way to show/hide different sections like “Gear Based On".

**Feature request for Tonex 2.1**
When in Tonex Rig mode, if I select a preset that is not already a Tonex Rig preset, if I try adding an effect or tone pedal capture in the front of the chain, I have to manually move and shift everything over to make room for it. This happens automatically on Tonex Rig Presets and everything shifts automatically, but it just does not on regular presets that I’m trying to add a new item into the chain.

Tonex Max user. I just updated to the latest Tonex version. I still can’t figure out how to import new models from disk. Where is that option?

Also, the Tone Model Amp Browser window still forces itself on top of everything and even if you hide Logic or Reaper, that window stays open and nothing can go in front of it!!! WTF!!???

I’ve also downloaded some free models from the Discover Tone Models section, then marked them as Favorites, but they don’t show up in Amplitube yet.

When are these issues going to be fixed?
