I would miss that feature as currently you can audition tones without having to play a guitar! ---

Like the idea of a new UI on paper, but have some concerns/recommendations. First, I hope that automation parameters will return soon. Second, can we pin the browser window and keep it on the amp or the cabinet regardless of what we select in the main panel? I’ll dig through 15 levels of tones and start going through amps, need to change a cab or IR and then it closes the window and I have to go dig back to where I was. And could we get stereo IR support at some point or is that a limitation because of concerns about compatibility with the hardware? ---

Tried a little more these days. - As already mentioned by someone here on the tread, the knob indicators do not match the actual values. The IK Support team usually responds within two business days or so. If anybody has a ticket that they feel is not being handled to their satisfaction please send a message to @DC_IK who will have the team take a look. ---

My Preset and Tone Model folders were missing, so I reverted back to version 1. ---

I recently installed Tonex Public Beta Version 2.0.2. I am using the Line 6 input of a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6. Things have gone well, but the Instrument Input always reverts to Mic 1 when I exit Tonex. All the other settings are saved. So every time I start the Tonex standalone program I have to change the instrument input. I don’t really want to use Mic 1 because the 18i6 only has 2 mic preamps but has lots of line inputs. This is not a problem with Amplitube 5 and wasn’t a problem with Tonex V1. Does anyone know of a workaround to save this setting , like making it a read-only setting? Thanks. ---

Tonex 2.0.2 beta — library rebuild does not populate from existing v1 content (files present and local) Running Tonex 2.0.2 beta on macOS (Mac Studio, M1). After updating, Tonex 2 shows none of my user presets or tone models. The in-app “restore” function does not work, and the Account & Library → “Scan your presets and tone modules again and rebuild the library” button produces an empty library. I verified the following before reporting: ∙ All content is present and local at ~/Documents/IK Multimedia/TONEX/, including the ToneModels folder, a Presets folder with 1,233 items, and the database files (Library.db plus Library2.db–Library6.db and the associated .db-shm / .db-wal files). ∙ The files are genuinely on disk, not cloud placeholders. My Documents folder is iCloud-synced (Desktop & Documents), so I confirmed there are no offloaded/placeholder files — no cloud icons on any presets or tone models, and I forced a full local download to be certain. Some preset files read as 0 bytes, but this appears to be by design (small files), not a sync issue. ∙ A system-wide search returns Library.db only in the expected ~/Documents/IK Multimedia/TONEX/ location (plus a manual backup copy I made on the Desktop). There is no competing/alternate v2 library elsewhere, so Tonex 2 does appear to be pointing at the correct folder. ∙ The 1.x version reads all of this same content correctly, confirming the files themselves are valid and intact. So: the content is valid, local, and in the location Tonex 2 expects, yet 2.0.2’s rebuild-library function populates nothing from it. This looks like a v2 read/rebuild bug rather than a missing-file, path, or iCloud issue. I did not find any option in Tonex 2 to manually point the app at a backup file or specify a library location. If there’s a supported way to force 2.0.2 to import or rebuild from an existing 1.x Library.db, I’d appreciate guidance. Otherwise this appears reproducible with intact v1 content present. Environment: Mac Studio M1, macOS Tahoe, Tonex 2.0.2 beta, upgrading from working 1.x install. ---

I have the same issue in a windows environment. Verified all files are local and not on cloud storage (One Drive) with the same results as you’ve described exactly. ---

The Tonex V1 library (db file) contained all the folder directories along with the presets and tone models. I had created many library files (Style, Manufacturer, DI, Amp+Cab, etc.) because too many folders made it difficult to keep track of everything. Subfolders would have made things much easier. Simply swapping the library in the Tonex folder gave me my desired workflow without any waiting. That was brilliant! Unfortunately, Tonex V1 didn’t have a folder structure for IR files, which was cumbersome. Tonex Beta 2.02 now allows folders in the IR directory—great! But unfortunately, the system for the library Db file was changed for Tonex 2. There’s no longer any data for quick switching; you can also see it in the file size, which remains at about 3 MB, whereas the previous one was often around 100 MB for me. If possible, please reintroduce this brilliant archiving tool in Tonex 2. Thank you! ---

With the latest version, importing new third-party profiles appears to remove any custom folders I’ve created. It looks like the ToneModelFolders, ToneModelFolderAssociations, PresetFolders and PresetFolderAssociations tables are being completely cleared and then reseeded with only the factory provided data. ---

I’ve installied Tonex 2.0 and it wasn’t possible to choose another input channel than 1 or 2 of my interface. My guitar is connected at input 3 so I want to use this as my Tonex inpt… it was possible in the previous versions. I’ve deleted ToneX 2.0 instantly because it’s not usable for me like that. Hope you can fix this! Thanks ---

I have the same problem.. what I have discovered is that it doesn’t seem to change, but it actually does change (though the interface doesn’t show it) cause I can now play thru it.. of course what then happens is the next time I close and open the standalone it crashes.. rsp ---

VIR might be the most underrated ToneX feature. I love it. It’s a slightly simplified version of the cab section in AmpliTube. There’s one thing that might discourage less experienced users from using VIR: the abbreviated names of the VIR cabs. It would be helpful if the descriptions at least specified exactly which cab each one represents. ---
