I was annoyed with paying, but I did it. And grateful existing Max users saved $50. After seeing a few vids, I was optimistic. I can now say IK won me back, guitar usage wise, and was hoping they would. Tonex Rig player gives me everything I need and nothing I don’t.

idk. I love it. And can’t wait to use it more. When my band starts rocking live gigs, I’m buying a Tonex board.

My question though to anyone at IK, or for my peers to hypothesize with me, is what happens to Amplitube? I do not see a way Amplitube continues as Tonex Rig is literally Amplitube but with Tonex captures. Well, with less effects but much higher quality effects…which is great. I hate overkill. And much more stable than Amplitube (at least on Mac).

This might be a dumb question, but I’m genuinely curious: how does something like the Tube Screamer / OD-808 in TONEX Rig actually work?

Is it based on a capture/model of the real pedal, similar to how TONEX captures amps, or is it a traditional algorithmic overdrive simulation like the effects in AmpliTube?

Idk. They mentioned some effects were derived from Amplitube. Maybe @Peter-IK knows the answer to this?

Not all of the 76 effects are from AmpliTube, there are the TONEX effects as well plus 10 brand new effects. However, you can load an overdrive Tone Model one of the two TONEX Tone Model slots in TONEX Rig/TONEX Board.
